About Me

My photo
Shane Trent
I am an engineering consultant with extensive experience in system design and diagnostics. I enjoy chasing clues, solving problems and working around roadblocks through the application of analog electronics and embedded firmware. I have designed systems at power levels from tiny coin-battery powered data loggers to mobile labs powered by inverters sipping power from a 1000 lb. battery bank through 2/0 welding cable. I can help you design, evaluate and prototype your product and protect your Intellectual Property. My specialty is being able to quickly diagnose problems. I find problem solving more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I also enjoy teaching robotics and engineering methodologies to students through the FIRST Robotics programs. I teach a robotics summer camp, coached FFL #5027 - Wharf Rats, and I am a mentor with FRC #4561 - TerrorBytes. At one time or another I have made or witnessed about every kind of electrical mistake there is. I will by a cup of coffee or anyone who can show me a new way to make a mistake. Patent Agent, BS Electrical Engineering, MS Materials Engineering. ShaneDTrent@gmail.com
